The Challenge

The client, a rapidly growing SaaS platform for the financial sector, was constrained by its legacy, on-premise infrastructure. This setup made it difficult to scale quickly, innovate, and meet the high-security and reliability standards their banking clients demanded. To address these limitations, they made a strategic decision to modernize their platform by migrating key components to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Their primary technical challenges included:

• Modernizing a Monolith: Migrating from an on-premise environment to a modern, microservices-based architecture on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Ensuring Consistency: The need for a repeatable, automated process to deploy and manage a complex, multi-tenant environment.

Our Solution

Tivona partnered with the client to engineer a robust, scalable, and secure cloud platform on GCP. Our solution focused on a full-stack, automated approach using best-in-class DevOps practices:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): We designed and implemented a comprehensive IaC solution using Terraform. This allowed us to provision and manage the entire GCP environment-including GKE clusters with multiple node pools, databases, and network configurations-in a consistent and repeatable manner.
• Automated CI/CD Pipelines: We built a powerful CI/CD system using Jenkins, designed with a “Configuration as Code” approach. This enabled the client to automate the deployment of their microservices onto GKE clusters using Helm charts, ensuring fast, reliable, and error-free releases.
• Security & Best Practices: The entire solution was architected to align with GCP’s security best practices, integrating robust security configurations directly into the automated deployment pipelines.
